The apartment was excellent and all the staff were so helpful, witty and friendly. The attention to detail was second to none and there are so many little touches that made our stay perfect. The grounds are beautiful, the location is perfect for a relaxing stay, a short distance from Rethymnon, which is amazing! "....I stayed here for 4 nights with two other friends earlier this month. We had a wonderful time here. Feliza and her son have turned a collection of 15-17th century houses into an intimate, warm and friendly place to stay. It is suitable for anyone - families, couples, young friends etc. The rooms are a good size, clean and decorated with lovely personal touches which make you feel like you are in a home vs. an identikit hotel. Feliza and her son are also incredibly helpful and approachable - they take the time to get to know their guests and happy to give lots of tips about where to go and sites to see, including a great neighbourhood restaurant around the corner.
The hotel is in a great location within the Rethymnon area of Crete. Definitely rent a car and spend time exploring the region and coastline. There's so much to see.
I'd recommend this place to anyone. It played a big part in making our trip to Crete so fun and memorable".

".....From the moment we arrived until the day we left, this place was awesome. Beautifully decorated and imagined by architect/owner Filitsa herself. Manolis, who was always very helpful with his recommendations.
He sent us to a small little place to eat. The place is not even advertised as a restaurant. 5 or 6 tables at most and you eat what they prepared that evening. One of the most authentic cuisine you will ever taste in Crete. The owner,also named Manolis and his wife Eleni are wonderful and genuine hosts.
As for the hotel itself, it is situated a little outside Rethymno, about 10 mnts by car, nestle in a small little village, Atsipopoulo. The village itself is very tranquilled and you could find anything needed at small markets and bakery nearby. We had breakfest at Calergi, again very good and plentiful.
The room/apt itself is quite big, very tastefully decorated and the bed is one of the most comfortable we experienced in our 5 weeks vacation in Greece. It was clean and spacious and really nice. There is also a rooftop with a beautiful view of the town and the mountains. The pool was really appreciate, as it was very hot and humid at the end of september.
So, bottom line, perfect place with very nice and smiling peoples.
Do not hesitate to book, it is quite charming".

Lots of love has been put into this charming boutique hotel situated in the heart of Crete. Feliza and her son - the owners - have converted four 17th century buildings into a small family-run hotel where they personally take care of guests staying in the 12 rooms.
Rethymno - the town in which the hotel is based is quite lively. There's also a delicious Cretan restaurant around the corner from here which I much recommend. Get there before 9pm or else all the food will be sold out (yes, it's that good). What's best about staying in this part of town is the fact that the rest of the island is very accessible. We wanted to see as much of the island as we could during our 5 day stay and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice.
Treats and flowers are left out in the porch overnight for those who like a midnight snack.
I'd go back and stay there in a heart beat!

"...this is a wonderful hotel in a charming little village, only a 10 minute drive away from the larger town of rethymnon. it's perfectly located to explore most of the different parts of crete (it's massive) - and everything is approx an hour's drive away. we had hired a car and were able to get everywhere pretty easily (you can't really experience crete properly without a car).
set in a gorgeous 17th century stone building - the rooms are beautiful, cozy and tastefully decorated - extremely comfy beds and everything is just as you'd like it. there's always free snacks/ tea/ coffee in the courtyard, and you can swim in the pool at any time. there's wifi throughout as well, which was a little touch-and-go at times, but overall pretty solid - at least in the courtyard which has lots of nice seating around the pool.
the owner felizia and her son manuel are such charming hosts, they go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. it very much felt like we were staying with an old friend or family member. they've certainly succeeded in creating a place which feels like home away from home.
i would definitely go back and stay again!

Spacious room, nicely decorated, gorgeous rooftop view, decent wifi, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, good local recommendations, conveniently located to Rethymnon without being in the middle of the tourist chaos.

"....We just returned from Crete Greece and stayed at the the Calergi residence with our children for a week in August. We were very impressed with the beautiful, spacious room we had . But most of all, the service we received from Emmanouil and his staff was just as anticipated: wonderful, impeccable and befitting a #1 recommendation.. Also, his mother, Filitsa and his father Manolis, were present to greet the guests and make them feel at home in the gorgeous backyard with flowers and trees . A small pool gave a lot of fun to the children Lovely beyond description!
We had breakfast just two mornings and thought it was outstanding. It was hard to leave after one week but at our next visit we will stay longer.(Mr. Barbounakis)
